What a Great Day! We arrived early enough to be apart of the gates opening and the crowds heading towards X2 and Tatsu. We headed in the opposite direction to Full Throttle. After a couple cycles it was our turn and the 6 of us occupied the front car. The launch out of the station feels like the punchiest SFMM has to offer. Feeling like we were going to fall out from the Hangtime at the top of the Loop Ryan yelled "I don't like this!" After the next couple elements the ride comes to a complete stop in a tunnel. I turn to Ryan and he says "I think I like this!" "It's not over yet" I say to him before the ride launches backwards out of the tunnel. Full Throttle is an excellent ride for it's Punchy Launches and Hangtime.
We moved on to Twisted Colossus next skipping Goliath for it was closed for repainting. Twisted Colossus has the Best Airtime in the entire park attempting to throw it's riders out on every hill. Morgan knew the best spot to enjoy this sensation was in the very back of the train, but the Extreme Airtime wasn't for Raelynne or Ryan.
Right next door was the Floorless Coaster Scream! Unfortunately the ride has gotten rather rough over the years. It's not unbearable, but you do have to ride a bit defensively now. Next was Batman the Ride, and this ride didn't disappoint. It's still Smooth, Intense and Relentless. Sarah and Raelynne found it to be a bit to much so a break was needed.
After a quick snack and a ride on Goldrusher we went on Westcoast Racers. This ride is always way better than I expect, and is an underrated gem in my mind. Ryan proclaimed it as his favorite ride there and it felt like the whole group really enjoyed this one.
We followed it up with some laughs on Jet Stream.
Next we headed up the mountain to ride Ninja. Unfortunately the short line was dragged out by single train operations. Ninja is classic and a must ride. We took the Magic Mover down to the front of the park to ride another classic Revolution before heading out to lunch.
Ready for action we headed to Viper next. Ryan and I took the front row. Each Loop was more intense than the last. After the mid-course the Batwing and Double Corkscrew have a little bit of Hangtime in them. After that was Roaring Rapids, a ride Sarah and I happily sat out on this cold overcast day.
CraZanity was a New ride for everyone in the group and our first night ride. The ride is massive and powerful, an absolute thrilling ride. Next for us was a return to Goldrusher. The ride is in near total darkness at night making it more thrilling and fun. We followed that up with another repeat of Westcoast Racers. We completed the ride, but it broke down before we could get off of it. The team handled the situation flawlessly. After about 10 to 15 minutes being stuck in the station the team was able to manually release us. They gave us a Flash Pass as an apology and we headed straight to Tatsu.
I've been on Tatsu many times but it has been about 9 since the last time I was on it. This ride felt like the first time all over again. As soon we started climbing the lift hill I started thinking about all my weight being held in the restraint system and wondering if it would hold. I was terrified the entire time we were on the ride, a part of me died on that ride that night. But I survived, and I can't wait until the next time I can get back on the ride and claim that part of me back.
We finished out the night with rides on Ninja, Revolution and Viper. It was a lot of fun, a lot of thrills, and a lot of memories. A Huge Thank You to Everyone one in the Coaster Crew, the day wouldn't have been as fun without you.
